Questions About Heroin for a Story?

Question by Shelly P. Tofu, E.M.T.: Questions about Heroin for a story?
I need some information about Heroin for a short work of fiction.. Because I know nothing about drugs. LOL..

Specifically I need to know:

1. How someone acts and looks when they’re “high” on heroin
2. How someone acts/looks when they’re “coming off” heroin (especially when they’re “jonesing” for their next fix)
3. Approximately how long the effects last (to know whether the character in the story is still high or not at certain points).
4. Can someone become addicted the first time and be jonesing for more within a few hours?

Any similar information would be helpful.. thanks!

Oh.. P.S. Is this the best category for this question, if not, which categories might I get the best answers.
By “Coming off” I mean more how they act when coming down from the high.. when the drug wears off… and their body starts craving more.. I’m not so much talking about full-fledged withdrawal.

just for fun

Bayer named the drug herion in the beginning of the 1900s and marketed it as a non-addictive morphine substitute and cough suppressant.

This might help…go to erowid.com and search herion and they have all the effects and everything. They even have people who share their experiences while on the drug. Good luck 🙂
