I am a 15 year old boy and am looking for some good books involving teenagers and violence and drug use. I like those type of edgy stories. Any recommendations?

“The Basketball Diaries” by Jim Carroll. Graphic and somewhat disturbing diary of a teen coming of age, involving copious amounts of sex and drugs.
“Trainspotting” by Irvine Welsh. It’s kind of hard to read since it’s written in Scottish dialect, however if you can get past that, it’s the witty and dark tale of heroin addict slackers and their misadventures.
“Requiem for a Dream” by Hubert Selby Jr. This is kind of a sad book. It is about a group of teens and their family who all have dreams of making it big. Due to their various drug addictions, their dreams crash and burn.
“Coin Locker Babies” by Ryu Murakami. Two teen boys were abandoned and left for dead when they were babies. As they grow up, they become highly disturbed and violent. It’s a pretty creepy book.
“Party Monster” by James St James. Parties, sex, drugs (especially heroin and Special K), glamor, and murder in the New York City club scene.
“I’m With the Band” by Pamela des Barres. Memoir of a groupie who would do ANYTHING to hang out with rockstars.
“Less Than Zero” by Brett Easton Ellis. A guy and his friends spend their time partying, doing drugs, getting tan, and having sex.
“Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” by Hunter S Thompson. Surreal and true story of a roadtrip to vegas with: “two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half-full of cocaine and a whole galaxy of multicolored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers… also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. But the only thing that worried me was the ether. There is nothing more irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge…” It’s not about teenagers but it is awesome.
“The Electric Kool Aide Acid Test” by Tom Wolfe. It is about Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters as they roadtrip around america in a day-glo bus with LSD and other happy drugs. The book is pretty crazy and written in a very casual, beat-type way.
“Naked Lunch” by William S Bourroughs is much more convoluted, consisting of the raving of a heroin addict. What is real and what is hallucination??
“The Doors of Perception” by Aldous Huxley, about the author’s orgiastic experiences with mescaline.
“Turn on, Tune in, or Drop out” by Timothy Leary. A collection of poems and essays by the LSD king.
