Heroin Addiction: What Symptoms Arise After a Heroin Overdose?

by wallyg

Overdosing on Heroin is no fun at all. The effects could last a lifetime. Heroin affects the central nervous system of the body. In small doses it can make someone feel super good for about 6-8 hours and give them an on top of the world euphoric type feeling. In fact, it makes them feel so good that they feel they can’t live without it so they’ll do anything to get it.

A dose of heroin strong enough to kill the average person can be anywhere from 200-500mg. However, hard core Heroin Addicts have been able to take up to 1900mg and survive. This is totally specific to each individual. A man being held in the Vista, CA. jail a few months ago died of a Heroin Overdose while waiting in a holding cell.

Most of the Heroin Overdoses that occur are because an addict mixed it with other drugs. Many Heroin Users who overdose don’t die quickly. In fact the number of people who die strictly from a Heroin Overdose is relatively small, but it does happen. They may feel like they are gonna die though. The big danger is when they mix it with Methamphetamines, sometimes known as a speed ball.

If a drug addict is partying all night it’s not uncommon for them to consume tobacco, alcohol, marijuana cocaine and heroin all in one night. This is what usually put things over the top.

There are a lot of people in the United States who use Heroin. The reason is because it’s a lot cheaper than it’s prescription drug counterpart Oxycotin. In fact, there’s a huge rise in people robbing Pharmaceutical Companies just so they can get high on Prescription Drugs.

People withdrawing from Heroin can experience chills, they will in most cases throw up everything inside themselves and if they are not in a Drug Treatment Center will have no problem resorting to crime just to get their fix. In many cases they will get caught and do jail or prison time if they are a repeat offender. Countless people, men and women are behind bars for many years that are just drug users, they are not even dealers.
