How Can I Look Older (My Age)?

Question by Amy: How can I look older (my age)?
I am going to be 24 in a few months however I am constantly told that I look 17 years old. Many people tell me this is a blessing and when I get older I will be thankful but right now it sucks.
– When I go out to the bar everyone id’s me more than once. Bartenders whisper to me “How old are you REALLY. I won’t tell?”
– I get asked for my Id for everything..movies, tanning, lottery tickets, etc.
– The other night I went out to a restaurant which I didn’t know was hosting a youth’s night event. Many of the young boys tried to hit on me and a parent running the event tried to tell me that I needed to go back to my table and join my group.

I can deal with these things but the main issue is a total lack of respect because people assume that I am still a teenager and they feel that they can talk to me however they want. I am naturally a very polite person however I do have my breaking point. I wear more “adult” like clothing. I do not act like a child I am very mature. I tried wearing makeup but I dont think that it helped at all. Not sure what else i could do. Any ideas appreciated 🙂

I have the same problem so if you ever figure it out – please let me know! It’s so annoying! People are constantly saying things like “oh when you finish school” or “what grade are you in?”. And all the little boys (by little I mean 16-17) chat me up and check me out. I hate it! Maybe they make an ageing cream? Haha or we could get some face paint and give ourselves wrinkly old grey skin and dye our hair grey lmao! I am thinking about getting a concave bob cause when i had one when I was 18 everyone thought I was 20 something, so it might help a bit! Good luck!

I have the same problem I am going to be 24 in a few months also and everyone thinks I’m in high school its annoying… I am married and was pregnant and people still thought I was in high school..
Anyways maybe its how you wear your make up? I’ve been experimenting and trying different ways to do make up by watching tutorials and that seems to help some, hair styles also make a difference maybe your hair dresser could help you find a style that will make you look your age? I know shorter hair on me makes me look older sometimes depending on the length. If its shoulder length and layered up it helps me.. Hope I helped some I wish there was a easy way…
