Had a Severe Panic Attack After Watching a Video Talking About Lorazepam Withdrawal?

Question by Jonathan V: Had a severe panic attack after watching a video talking about lorazepam withdrawal?
I took 1mg of Lorazepam for 2-2,5 weeks every day for constant anxiety.

Now please look up this video on YouTube:

“Benzo Withdrawal Welcome To Hell 3 Years Later” (without caps)

This man in the video actually caused me to have a severe panic attack, I know it’s not his fault but he made me panic so much, I thought I was going crazy, went to bed hyperventilating and eventually went to sleep and woke up sweaty…It’s also hot outside, about 80,6 Fahrenheit.

Can someone please tell me that I’m not going to die from this and that everything will be alright, I’m afraid that if someone doesn’t clarify this to me I will have another panic attack tomorrow…I’m tapering off of it, but afraid that I will get another panic attack or might die…please help.. I’m scared.
I’m 20 years old if that helps.

hi there.. i see there is no answers here so i thought id try to help… basically i used to suffer with panic attacks / anxiety for over 3-4 years and from all the reading, meditation videos, breathing techniques etc i over come it… it was not easy but the main thing you really need to realize is it is all in your head! nothing wrong with you at all.. i cannot provide great help here but try these… when you are feeling an attack coming.. hold your breath and tense every muscel … hold for 10 seconds.. breath out slowly.. repeat until you feel calm. also picture yourself watching yourself stood there having a panic attack…. you are just stood there right???? nothing else but you… nothing attacking you… nothing harming you… just stood there, so what are you panicking for? hope it helps.

Panic attacks don’t kill you, though you might think you are going to die. And the 3 years of hell from benzo withdrawals only happens to those that take it for a long time, not those that take it for a few weeks. But the potential is there if you take them long enough. Withdrawals from benzos are worse than withdrawals from heroin. There is nothing worse than benzo withdrawals. There are many people that have taken benzos for so long that they will probably be on them for the rest of their lives because they can’t quit – the withdrawals would be too severe.

They don’t happen to people that only take benzos for a few weeks. You need to take it for at least a few months to have the bad withdrawals happen to you, and the 3 years of hell only happens to people that take it for a year or more.

If you don’t want to end up there, don’t take them every day. Find some other way to deal with your anxiety. Benzos work great, but are for intermittent or short term usage only. Xanax is great for panic attacks. It is potent and fast acting, it kills the panic attack, and then it wears of when no longer needed. Ask your doctor for some and carry it around with you. Just avoid the temptation to take it all the time.

Go to the public library and check out some books on anxiety. You will learn more about it than any doctor will ever teach you.
