If you’re talking about medications prescribed for you by your doctor, and take them as prescribed, you are helping your emotional well-being. If you don’t take them or if you abuse them you’re only hurting yourself. If you’re talking about street drugs, well, only idiots do that so you’re not helping your emotional well-being at all, if fact you’d be doing damage to your body and brain.
Alcohol is a known depressant to the body and mind. I know you read and hear on the news about all the fatalities caused by drunk drivers, the number of those arrested for DUIs, so that should answer your questions about alcohol.
