Withdrawals From Pain Killers (Day2)?
Question by Pink Chickita: Withdrawals from Pain Killers (day2)?
im staying strong and listening to alot of reinforcing music to cope with the thoughts of relapsing. I broke down yesterday (first day of withdrawals) and told my mother what i am going through and thank god she was supportive. My sister is addicted to heroin so i know hearing this is not an easy thing for her. I started taking the pills when i was going through a depressive state with my body and the pills curbed my appitite and that way i wouldnt eat as much. At first it was like a god send and i thought it was ok if i was only doing it after work to stop me from eating. I used to be a weekend thing to get high then became my hook for loosing weight. On the weekend became everyday after work and so on…it never got to the point where i needed one to get out of bed but i would feel sick every morning after taking a pill. I used anything from vicodin to percocet to oc’s to opana.. (opana is the DEVIL!!) and is a VERY strong opiad.. Im on day two and im feeling better then yesterday but last night i had the RLS (restless leg syndrome), couldnt sleep, unimaginable stomach pains, can bairly keep food down, hot and cold flashes, stuffy/runny nose, coughing, sneezing, and headaches. These symptomes are HORRIBLE and im working through it all because i do not have time off right now. thank god its friday and i have the weekend to recooperate. Im really worried because everyone says day 3-4 are the worst and im not looking forward to it. (quitting cold turkey so when i think about pills i think about the w/d and will stay far far away!!) any advice on anything will help and will be appreciated thanks in advance!

All I can say is hang in there, don’t give in and it takes a really, really brave person to do what you are doing!
Don’t relapse but if it gets too tough, see a doctor. There are things they can give you to help that are not addictive. Get all the support you need!
God bless and asking him to send you strength! You’re already brave!

I quit a habit of 200-300+mg Oxys/day. Mostly I snorted them. I got off using a miracle drug called “Suboxone”. It is only prescribed by several doctors in my state (TN) so it took me a while to get, but it allowed me to feel normal while I got off those damn pills. If you find a doctor, he’s going to want you as his patient for as $ $ LONG $ $ as possible! And the Suboxone can be as addictive as the opiates! No kidding! You only need 4-6 weeks of the Suboxone to quit the OC’s and Opana (the Doc will NEVER tell you that!). After a week of taking the Suboxone you start to taper down. I would only start with half a pill (don’t take the whole dose like the Doc says, they’re crooks and want you hooked on something else). Every week start to only take 1/2 daily of what you took the week prior. Every week taper down. You’ll feel a little discomfort as the pills leave your system but much better than you would cold turkey! Don’t try to get high with the Suboxone. You’ll still have some discomfort as you taper down but you just have to be strong! You can do it, and this drug will help! Just make sure to taper down from after the first week and get off this drug ASAP once you start to feel better in 4-6 weeks!! I can’t stress this enough!! A single little pill you can split into 8 pieces. Really! A little sliver of a piece is what I was taking every day near the end. Then I just quit. YOU CAN DO IT! It’s all about the right attitude. And find something to keep you VERY busy, keep your mind off things. There is hope, I quit 3 years ago this coming January 19th! Good luck.
