Painkiller Addiction: IF You’ve Been There Personally, or Have Credible Knowledge of Same, Can You Answer This?

Question by Me-OW! “Ah’ll Be Bach!”: Painkiller Addiction: IF you’ve been there personally, or have credible knowledge of same, can you answer this?
I have a VERY good Friend, we’ll call her Sheree, 44, who has been taking Painkillers daily for over 6 months. These pills consist of mainly Hydrocodones, “Vicodin” and similar derivatives, as well as occasional “supplements” of Soma and Norcos. Sheree does indeed have some painful afflictions for which she requires these Painkillers, (Kidney Stones, Bladder Infections, Ovarian Cysts, & more.) She begins taking them when she awakens, then every 2-3 hours, throughout the day. In addition, Sheree also ingests a daily regime of Xanex & Carisoprodol pills for “anxiety” issues, in the morning and throughout the day.
When I expressed concern to Sheree that she might become addicted, she was quite adamant that she #1, was NOT addicted, and #2, would know IF she was addicted to either pill regime!
I have only recently learned that Carisoprodol is, alone and by itself, very addictive.
MY QUESTION: In your opinion, are the odds good that Sheree IS addicted to the Painkillers???
If so, what can she do about it, per a semi-painless “Detox”? She is a single mother w/3 children.
