Would You “Use a Prong Collar” on Your Dog?
Question by Jake Sully®- Is Dirty: Would you “use a prong collar” on your dog?
I would and have used prong collars on my dogs. But why is their such negativity when it comes to mentioning this collar?
Do your or have you? Do you support the use of prong collars? Have they helped your dogs are not?
If you don’t use prong collars? Do you think they are torture tools.? If you do why?
Thanks ( all opinions welcome )

Our dog was a rescue who’s previous owner used a prong collar. This collar was so tight on his neck that we had to bring the dog to the vet to have it cut off, it was embedded into his neck. We have a jack/pug.
This being said, for small breeds I don’t recommend prong collars, I don’t think they’re needed. However, for big breeds who are much stronger, I do see their value, as long as they’re used correctly.

I believe if you have trouble controling your dog than absolutely use them! But thier is such negativity because people miss use them and keep tugging on the leash to correct the dog and it is painful to the dog
