Serious Question: Do You Have a Drug Addiction?

Question by Skywalker_Kills: Serious Question: Do You Have a Drug Addiction?
I’m just looking to see who else on YA is struggling with addiction. I’m addicted to vicodin. I have been hiding my addiction from my family and friends for about one year. Looking at me, you’d never realize that I’m addicted to a drug. I’m a straight A college student, I have a great job, and a beautiful girlfriend who I love. I hate living with this addiction. I hate feeling guilty. I feel trapped, however. I can’t, for the life of me, bring myself to tell my family and friends about my addiction. I don’t want to see the shame in their eyes. I’ve tried to quit so many times. I sometimes go one week without a pill, but then I’ll revert back to my 7 pill-a-day habit. Who else is in this position?
