Am I Addicted to Gaming?
Question by Daedal: Am I addicted to gaming?
My friend thinks I’m addicted to video games. I deny this but I’m questioning the viability of his claim.
Under Dictionary.com, the definition for addiction is:
The state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that’s psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such a point that its cessation causes severe trauma.
Point 1: Define enslaved?
I am not enslaved to my games unless you count constantly checking up on it on my Iphone or Facebook account. I go as far as waking up in the middle of the night to play it and it takes up time I could be socializing with my friend but that’s it.
Point 2: Severe Trauma?!

When a person is addicted to a narcotic, they will not feel pain relief from a non narcotic medicine. if your friend is willing to talk to her medical doctor openly, the doctor can form a program to get her off of the heavy drugs and into something that is not narcotic. It’s going to take a doctor and perhaps a pain relief clinic to help your friend. Physical therapy is very important in dealing with pain.

See a doctor who should be able to help you with your addiction. The fact your 14 is very worrying as these painkillers can be very harmful to you. I’d stop and think about why your doing this and get some help.

Heroin Detox: Am I Addicted to Xanax?
Question by ?Dede?: Am i addicted to Xanax?
First off i am prescribed xanax for anxiety. But i think it is causing more harm than good.
I have been taking .25 mg about 5 days a week since october.
I feel wonderful when i am taking it, but when i am not, i feel like shit.
Like today, i didn’t take it but i took it yesterday. Today i have had a headache, i just felt out of it, anxiety, mood swings, nausea and diarreah. I bet if i took a xanax i would feel better.
Does it sound like i am dependent on it?
Also the doctor switched me to klonopin and she wants me to take it every day but i am thinking twice about doing it because i don’t want to become any more dependent on medication than i already am.
Anyone else in the same situation
I know they are bad, they are just like a temporary fix to the problem. That is why i want to stop them while i am at a small dose
