If You Agree That Marijuana Should Remain Illegal, How Do You Defend That Point of View?

Question by harryh: If you agree that marijuana should remain illegal, how do you defend that point of view?
I really want to hear from people who can justify the current legalization of alcohol, and nicotine but not marijuana. I’m not trying to change anyones mind, I just really want to know how that justification is made based on current fatalities, addictions, medical conditions, and overall good health. I haven’t heard a logical point by point argument yet-just the old standby “gateway drug” defense, and “illegal drugs equals violence” defense. This argument is off topic. The issue I’m asking about how nothing to do with either of these.

And by the way, I don’t use marijuana. I just have a problem with the hypocrisy of our current drug laws.

Thanks for the input.

Methadone and Harmd. Is Harmd doing more harm?
I am here to write my opinion on HARMD. This means; “Helping America Reduce Methadone Deaths”.
Although their intentions might be good or in their own mind considered good. H.A.R.M.D. is disseminating lies about the drug Methadone. A co-founder of this organzition experienced a horrible tragedy in regards to the admintration of this drug in a professional medical setting.

As the story goes this individuals loved one was addicted to Oxycodone. Upon seeking medical help for this, the Medical facilty gave this person Methadone in conjunction with a benzodiazepiene and this person tragically died as a result of this combination. A dangerous combination.

A Heroin addict is dangerous to any community. The more of them present makes the danger even more of a threat to a community. The addict needs more and more of the substance. No matter what salary is earned, it never seems enough to get the drugs to satisfy their cravings.

The fact is that many a heroin addict does not earn anything near the amount needed to satisfy them. This results in theft and the selling of the stolen items for money. This is only the mild part of the results of an addiction. I knew addicts who would head for the mall first thing in the morning to boost or steal things. Some of them would take orders from their dealer and then trade what they stole for heroin.
