Question by brighteyes: What does “individually trained” mean in reference to Assistance Dogs?
I am referring to the usage of “individually trained” in the Americans with Disabilities Act definition of a service animal.

I would guess it means the dog was trained exclusively by one person

Some agencies teach classes of dogs to be service animals. Others take puppies and place them in an individual home, where they receive one on one training. The second choice is your individually trained description.
