What Does This Song Mean to YOU?

Question by m??t: What does this song mean to YOU?

Something In The Water – Example

My take is that he’s talking about drugs and addiction, how it draws so many people in.
“I see them come, I see them go, been coming here since I don’t know”
Reminds me of how you would be like at a smack den and you see people come, you see them go, but you’ve stayed there with your addiction.
Everything about it screams drugs to me but maybe that’s just me.

I agree with you.

“I try to stop me drinking it, but now I come to think of it,
There’s something in the water, I can’t say no.” – it screams addiction.

“They take a sip and lick their lips,
Start to shake their hips.
Dance the night away,
The gangsters put their knives away,
The water drowns the fights away,
I’m really liking life today” – it’s about the effects of the drugs. Energy, liking life, being euphoric and stuff.

“But don’t let it confuse you,
When they wake, they’ll all be back to usual.” – when the drug effects expire, it’s all back to what it actually is.

Don’t know about the rest of the lyrics, but these seem to point exactly to drug addiction.
