What Are the Withdrawal Symptoms of Heroin?

Question by Vikki: What are the withdrawal symptoms of heroin?
My boyfriend of 2 years started using heroin I’m guessing around 4-5 months ago after his accident which he got an extreme pain in his back. But last month he went into detox and a volunteer treatment for a week and now he claims he hasn’t done it since. He acts weird sometimes, but he tells me it’s just the withdrawal symptoms. He gets really tired and falls asleep sitting up, has stomach and headaches, his pupils are normal one minute and then tiny the next, he’s irritable, and can’t sleep at night. He also has medication for anxiety, which I think also has a role in causing these. I really want to believe him that he hasn’t done it since detox, but there are times when I’m not sure. He just makes it seem a lot easier to quit than it is made out to be, which causes me to think he really hasn’t. Is it possible that he hasn’t done it since then, and are those symptoms of using it or withdrawals? And what should I do to help him. No stupid answers, please.
