Why Do People Say Nicotine Is Tougher Than Heroin to Quit?

Question by blaukrieg: Why do people say nicotine is tougher than heroin to quit?
That’s PURE BS! I am having a HELL of a time getting off hydrocodone, and I am a smoker who has quit cigarettes before. I NEVER got more than anxiety, insomnia, and headaches. With the opioid, I get all that, PLUS muscle and bone aches, nausea and vomiting, restlessness BEYOND anxiety, and more. If I get treated to tis special hell “just” for hydrocodone, then a fortiori, heroin is much worse, and both are titans, compared to the dwarf of nicotine.

It’s not the side effects that make nicotine harder to quit it’s the heavily addictive factor. Heroin,Cocaine,Opium all of that has worse side effects, but statistically easier to drop cold turkey. Nicotine is more you try to quit. Then you go straight back. Try to quit go straight back. When on Nicotine you get major cravings. Other drugs you just horrible side effects, but as much of a massive craving.
