Addiction to Hydrocodone is very common and increased usage is being noted as a rising trend. This is largely due to the easy availability of this drug. It is often consumed with other drugs that are not severely restricted and these mixtures usually come in the form of painkillers that are prescribed by doctors. Some of the common preparations that are used are Vicodin and Lortab.

Medications containing Hydrocodone can come in tablet, capsule or syrup forms and all preparations are taken orally. In its pure form it is very hard to obtain, because of its addictive nature.

The symptoms of addiction are anxiousness to take the drug and the need to take more of the drug to get the desired effect. To feed their addiction, many addicts go from doctor to doctor faking the severity of a condition in order to obtain the medication. Some resort to criminal behavior such as breaking into pharmacies to steal the medication or forging prescriptions.    Read more...

Several recent tragedies have occurred in our community. A death due to prescription drug addiction and overdose, other recent prescription drug overdoses resulting in hospitalization, one a probable suicide attempt, one resulting in brain damage, and several non-fatal overdoses are affecting many lives. Countless other drug users are walking around and <i>driving</i>, on the same roads as you and I, stoned, loaded on their legal drugs. The disease of drug addiction (alcoholism is just alcohol addiction) is treatable. The excruciating pain to the family, as well as to the addict himself, that results from the consequences of addiction <i>can be resolved</i>.    Read more...

Drug addiction is the other name of drug dependence. Drug dependence means that a person needs to consume drugs to work and function properly. A person who consumes drugs regularly cannot leave it at once as this will rise up the withdrawal symptoms. Drug addiction is basically a regular use of drugs even after knowing the bad and the adverse effects of that drug. A person can also be just physically dependent on any substance without having proper addiction to it.

There are many problems that are caused by the addiction of various drugs. Those problems are highly harmful and can even cause deadly results.
