Heroin addiction is among the severe type of addictions that many are aware of. Placing a person into such treatment is not an effortless task. Once the heroin has been consumed by a person, it will target certain parts of the body’s central nervous system. This will signal the brain to discharge a hormone that is called dopamine.

Dopamine is the hormone responsible for producing a feeling of pleasure in a person. This is the reason why the individual who has taken the substance will crave for more of it.
