Hi. My boyfriend is a heroin addict. He snorts quite a lot of it everyday. He would really like to go on methadone,he thinks its the only thing that will work. Dont tell me how addictive it is please and dont judge. I have called around and was told he has to fail at other programs before he could be accepted into that one. I guess I understand where they are coming from to an extent but at the same time I feel its unfair. He should be able to give it a try. He has tried suboxone and has went to meetings . He has tried cold turkey. He has tried therapy. Nothing has worked so why do they need legal proof he will fail a detox?! Help please. Id like to get him help legally and inexpensively.

I have been prescribed Xanax along with my Zoloft I am already on for severe stress and anxiety. I experienced my first anxiety attack a couple weeks ago and had another a couple days ago. So I called my doctor and he gave my Xanax .5mg. So my question is, if you are taking Xanax, what should I expect when I take them. I seriously doubt the doctor would give me something that would harm me, but just wanted to get others experience with this drug. Thanks in advance! 🙂

xanax is a very addictive drug try not to use it. The zoloft in the longer term will help you. Some CBT will help also.

Slowly cut down your intake cold turkey can be bad, just chop 1/4 off your tabs weekly.

My fiance is trying to quit heroin use by going cold turkey. He has survived the first three days but now he can’t sleep. He’s going on three days without sleep. He has taken Tylenol 3, Xanex and some other meds to help him sleep but it doesn’t work. Can someone tell me of a way to help him? Any suggestions with sleeping aids that would work?

Try Ambien (Zolpidem).

You can try tylenol PM,,that kind of helps. The best thing would be to get something like klonapine. He could get it at any clinic. It is really the only thing that is going to help and even with that sleep is going to be something he will battle for awhile. Here is a link you can look it up at.

I have tried the gum and it makes me ill, I tried cold turkey and it almost works but I end up going back, I get cranky, I don’t want the patch because the thought of it going through my skin in my bloodstream doesn’t sit right with me….i’m a single mom and I know I can spend my money on more important things….how can I quit fast and for good?? Serious question here, please no sarcastic answers!!!
