Question by tayler*lush: A crazy person prescribed me anxiety medicine?
I’ve been going to the same doctor on and off for about two years. He diagnosed me with bipolar disorder and we have literally tried every single medicine that he prescribes and nothing ever works for me so without saying anything I decided to seek a second opinion. At the time of the appointment (last week) I was unemployed with no health insurance so I was sent to my county’s mental health center. I was drug tested and put into a room with a nurse practitioner. I don’t know exactly how that title differs from the other types of nurses, but she was CRAZY. She kept talking about how her husband was this heroin addict and how she thanks God that she left him. Then she told me that she thought I had anxiety disorder which I do believe is the case and then started writing the prescription for Zoloft. From what i’ve heard, Zoloft is for depression right? Either way.. after she was done writing, she goes “Honey have you ever taken Xanax?” and of course I told her yes and she goes “Oh
s.h.i.t did you love it or what?” and ended it with f.u.c.k. this and that “i’m way overtime on you they’re gonna yell at me” and i’m just like whoa who let this lady in? i really was starting to believe that she escaped from the mental institution next door. anyways, the point is I’ve been on the medicine for a week now and i’m really just dizzy, tired and loopy all the time. Like I don’t feel “real” if you know what that’s like? What should I do? Request another “nurse practitioner”, stop taking the medicine, or just maybe decrease it? Please help!
