Question by Maynard: How do I train my dog to come back to me when i call?
I want to know how to effectively teach my dog recall. At the moment, I call her, then (if I’m lucky) she stops and looks at me, then looks at where she wants to go and clearly thinks; ‘Screw him =) ‘ How do I make myself more attractive than the other dog/area/person to my dog? She can do all the basic commands when she comes to me (sit,down,beg,roll,stay…) thanks!

Question by : Subuxone Only for Addiction Recovery or Also True Pain Management?
I am recently sober from pain meds, the last 6 months. I also have monthly migraines, and rheumatoid arthritis that especially the last month has kept me at a level 8-9 pain.

I have heard of people being on Methadone for long term pain managemenet, especially former addicts, But I also hear it is still a narcotic and can be just as bad as if i stayed on my percocets.

Subuxone – now many people swear that this is the best tool to get off opiotes with, and that it curbs thouight cravings, physical cravings and it helps with physical pain from withdrawls.

Question by Kodycat: Oxycodone cold turkey questions?
Hi. I was wondering how long do these symptoms last? And how is the best way to go cold turkey? When will you start to feel better? How bad are the cravings for pills when you are completly off of them? Anybody have any stories about when you did it? Been off of them for 3 days…would tapering down still be a good idea when you had 0 now in 3 days? If so how many could a person have to start out with so that it doesn’t become a problem again? Any advice/help would be appericated. Thanks.
So it is safe to just suffer right? One thing is that if you are really dang sick and you got more pills and tapered off would u still have to go through all this again or would it be milder? I most likey agree since it has been 3 days it is probally better to keep going with the sick right? I think the docs should warn people about these pills b4 they give it to you. Does anybody agree with that too or is it just me?
And btw we went to the doc and they said that they were not going to do anything just gave clozampam drug. I know everybody says just see your reg doc…but he was out and then went to see other doc in office and then said he talked to him and he wasn’t going to do anything either! I just donno it is just causing me alot of stress. btw this is not me that is going through the withdrawls, it is my hubby. He also went to detox place and they told him that they probally wouldn;t give him the subtex because he wasn;t getting sick enough. He went to an assiment and they lied. I just don’t understand all of this. Anybody else gone through anything of the sort like this in thier lives???    Read more...

Question by rileymorgan: I’m trying to stop smoking, will it get easier?
I’m on day one of my attempt to quit smoking, it’s been about 12 hours since I had a cigarette. It sucks, but the worst thing was that I was mean most of the evening. I am keeping busy, but feel like I stop and think “I’m going to get up and get a cigarette”..then I remember I can’t. This happens about 10 times every 5 minutes.

Will this go away, or even lighten up? Seems like the mean/grumpiness and the mistaken thoughts that its time to smoke are all that are getting to me, but it’s really irritating.

Question by jayne: My son with Aspergers is having trouble at school?
My 20 year old son is involved in a program for “at risk youth”. They build affordable housing. He and my foster son are the only ones with ASD in the program. My son has frequent melt downs and his supervisor refuses to believe they are caused by his Aspergers because he “shows leadership skill sometimes”. Does anyone know of any articles or books I can give to the program to help them understand my son’s behavior is not voluntary? I already gave them a copy of “Aspergers and Difficult Moments”. Please help! They are talking about firing him!

There is a book called ‘The Complete Guide To Aspergers Syndrome’ by Tony Attwood and it has a 5* rating. You can get used but for half price from Amazon.

Question by Stay@homemom: An addict…A child…A mess… Your advice please?
My daughter’s biological father has just come into our lives (very much unwanted) after 3 years of the unknown. She is now 3, so yes her entire life, and for my entire pregnancy he has MIA. I found out that he was using drugs 4 days after I found out I was pregnant and out he went. I didn’t want any part of that for myself or my unborn child. I had my best friend by my side the entire time, who is now my husband and the only father my daughter has ever known. We have a great little family and then out of no where, this man comes back into our lives. We both got attorneys b/c he is still partying and doing the same old thing, but the state I live in is “pro-family”, so they think at absolutely no matter what the biological parents are into personally, they should have a relationship with their child. I think it would be great for my daughter to know her biological father, of course if he had something of value to offer her. Since we have been in court we have had a temp. visitation plan that allows him every Sunday for 6-7 hours. She has now started saying the “f” word, the “B” word, Dumb A**, and make gun sounds by saying “Bang Bang”… I am completely disgusted and I am honestly scared for my daughter’s well being… My attorney is so passive that I need to personally step up my game and dig into this. So my question is could a person how regularly shoots up Oxy and Heroin stop using drugs but continue to drink heavily? Please help me! 🙂    Read more...
